These two pictures (I used a Kodak HIE film and a red
filter) show the potential of such technique. Basically, the green
area (foliage, grass, etc.) is brighter than normal due an excess of
infrared radiation emitted in comparison to other areas (to see other

here).
Although you may not be interested in such effects I suggest you to try
at least the KODAK HIE film since, due to the absence of the
anti-halation backing, attractive effects can also be obtained with
"normal" subjects as shown in the pictures taken at the 
Edinburgh street festival.
